Buuuuttt, there’s a silver lining to everything right? Now that we’re spending more time at home than ever before, there’s actually a greater number of hours in the day to plan that wedding of yours! Read on for all the ways you can still plan your your special day during Covid-19!

Go on a virtual tour

Businesses have had to get creative and pivot during this time and venues more so than ever. Many venues are offering virtual tours so you can see everything a venue has to offer from the comfort of your own living room.

Get chatting!

This is the perfect time to narrow down your suppliers especially your photographer/videographer, celebrant, florist, band and make up artist. Work out your budget, style and what’s important to you in your supplier. Check them out online via their website and socials. Narrow your choice to 2 or 3 and set up a time to chat to them over the phone or Zoom. You will get a great feel for them by chatting in person and get a more authentic idea about what they are like as a person rather than the carefully curated part you see online. Come ready with questions and a paper and pen to write down answers and find out what they can offer you and how they can bring your special day to life!

Plan for far in advance

With so many weddings having to be postponed or cancelled this year, 2021 and 2022 is shaping up to be HUGE for the wedding industry. That means that a lot of venues and suppliers will be booking out a long way in advance. To avoid disappointment, plan your day for late 2021 or even into 2022 and beyond.

Make sure you know where you stand with deposits

Most venues and suppliers will require you to put down a deposit to secure the date with them. Know where you stand in case (oh gawd, don’t even suggest it..) the wedding is not able to go ahead for any reason through no fault of your own. Deposits are usually a substantial amount of money and often non-refundable but read the fine print!

Find inspiration online

Now you can spend guilt free time scrolling through the likes of Pinterest and Instagram for inspo. Pinterest is awesome as you can narrow down your search based on what you are interested in. Having a navy blue and gold theme? Want to go boho? Keen to replicate some romantic sunset photos – it’s there at your finger tips.

Stay connected

Try to connect with at least one other human outside your own family every day. Send a text, set up a face call, message them via socials or write them an email. They’ll love to hear from you!
