Most people dread a trip to the dentist and Barry was no different. But what he didn’t realise at the time is that this trip to the dentist would change his life. Forever. Barry, a romantic at heart couldn’t believe his eyes when the gorgeous dental nurse with the big brown eyes greeted him at the clinic that day. Barry did enough to obtain Vanessa’s number and they dated. Vanessa was not too sure if this lovable larrikin with the Scottish accent was really her type. But Barry persisted to win Vanessa’s heart and that persistence certainly paid off!
Being Sydney based but wanting a Melbourne wedding, they set about planning their wedding at the gorgeous Royal Botanical Gardens. They were blessed with stunning Autumnal weather with both the ceremony and the reception overlooking the lake. The ceremony included the Scottish tradition of “tying the knot” and drinking from the Quaich, which dates back to the 15th century! Trish Williams made sure these lovely traditions were incorporated.
The day wasn’t without a few hiccups, Barry’s best friend who flew out from Scotland unfortunately fell ill a couple of days before the wedding day and ended up in hospital! Vanessa’s two cousins gladly stepped in at the last minute whilst there was a mad scramble to fit them into their suits, they took on the role with great pride.
Guests then enjoyed a gentle stroll through the gardens to the giant marquee that was immaculately set up for the party to begin! Alfonso Villegas did an amazing job of incorporating traditional Italian songs with dance tunes so everyone could hit the dance floor!
If you like what you see so far and think we'd be a great fit, I'd love to hear from you!
