Let’s face it, the choice of celebrants in Melbourne is overwhelming. And times have changed, once upon a time, it was the domain for retirees to fill their days with a rewarding job. Now, many younger celebrants have joined the foray. And why wouldn’t they, to be involved in arguably a couples’ best day of their life is pretty darn spesh! With that said, I’ve narrowed down my favourite celebrants who I’ve worked with and I feel not just officiate a couples’ special day but really go above and beyond to deliver. So in no particular order, my top 8 are:
Bubbly and extroverted, Jane Austin will go out of her way to make you feel special. Jane knew of Chris and Amy’s love of chocolate, in particular Kinder Suprises, so literally suprised them with their own kinder suprise eggs! If you think everyone looks a little drowned, it is because they are; a huge storm blew over in the middle of the ceremony and we were all rushed inside. But Jane didn’t fret about her equipment getting wet, or her hair being ruined, she just laughed it off. Her laughter and good humour is certainly infectious!
If you don’t immediately fall in love with Fiona Garrivan‘s beautiful Irish accent, you sure will her warm nature. Fiona has a really lovely way of making everyone she meets feel special. “We don’t remember days, we remember moments.”
You can’t miss this lovely lady in purple! Accompanied by her husband Tas, Helen from Marry me Helley will get to know you and even party the night away with you too! She will get to know you, not only as a couple getting married but as friends and will keep in touch with you long after your wedding day.
A relative newcomer to the celebrancy foray, Adam from Bloody Gorgeous Weddings, a true gentleman and lovable larrikan wears many hats, from digital marketing specialist, Dad and of course, awesome celebrant!
Amber the celebrant‘s motto is “It’s not my wedding, it’s your wedding” Located in Eyensbury, halway between Geelong and Melbourne, Amber is in her element conducting rustic, winery and country weddings.
No wedding is too big or too small, Jacklyn from All About Love Celebrants will make your wedding day about you! Jackie loves intimate celebrations and specialises in elopements and smaller weddings.
A self proclaimed “high school drop out” John was a radio and wedding DJ before finding his calling as a celebrant With 500 weddings under his belt, John Beck is now recognised as one of Melbourne’s best. Located in the outer East, John loves Yarra Valley and relaxed weddings.
Imagine coming home from an overseas holiday and striking up a conversation with the friendly looking stranger next to you. Turns out you’re planning your wedding day and the kind stranger is studying to become a marriage celebrant! Match made in heaven! That’s how Nick and Emilly booked Sian before she was even a qualified celebrant. Sian Lavater loves bespoke celebrations and loved up couples!
So there you have it, my favourite Melbourne celebrants’ wrapped up! I KNOW you will have a beautiful, personal ceremony delivered by one of these very talented and amazing humans!
If you like what you see so far and think we'd be a great fit, I'd love to hear from you!
Photography is a celebration of love, life, laughter and family. It is capturing the joy, the tears, the raw emotions and the connections with our loved ones. I love to photograph people and places, photography is not just my job, it’s my passion.
